What is this car? The future grandfather in law wanted to know what his dad was driving and I didn’t know.

Based on the age, it’s probably Something Something Runabout

I would ask around lunch time your part of the world, tends to get the most eyeballs and best answers

It looks British, where was the photo taken?

Probably not British, early on, a lot of countries still drove RHD. Canada did for instance until the ‘20's.
I think a lot of American cars were still RHD until the 1910's.
You could also ask over at theoldmotor.com - they would probably know more than we would as they focus on the older stuff! :)

The only American car I can think of from that era with a V shaped radiator was Paige. And it doesn’t really look like a Paige.

It’s definitely of the late teens to around 1920 era. I know some cars of that time, but this stumps me. I bet the experts on old timey stuff at the AACA “What is it” forum will know:

The V shaped sighting was. A good call! I found another company called Biddle Motor Car Company that also had V shaped radiator. Also this picture was probably taken in Pennsylvania where it was built. I havnt found a matching picture yet though.

Can’t help you mate, But I’ll say this; at that time there were a lot of coachbuilt cars, this could be one of these. Cool car though :)

Oakland is a brand. The brand was bought by GM and eventually renamed as Pontiac (after the brand’s birthplace). Here’s a 1916 Oakland Speedster that looks nearly identical.

I think we have a winner

I’m pretty confident it’s a Biddle, from somewhere in the 1915-1920 timeframe. Looks like a sport roadster body, possibly with some custom work on the rear.
